New Delhi: New intelligence inputs have revealed that Pakistan is directly funding the reconstruction of Lashkar-e-Tayyaba’s (LeT) headquarters, Markaz Tayyaba, located in Muridke, Punjab. The complex was struck by the Indian Air Force on May 7, 2025, during Operation Sindoor, which destroyed cadre accommodation, weapons storage, and the “Umm-ul-Qura” training blocks.

According to intelligence reports, Islamabad has already allocated 4 crore Pakistani rupees for the reconstruction, though LeT has estimated the costs at over 15 crore Pakistani rupees. The project is being overseen by senior commanders Maulana Abu Zar and Yunus Shah Bukhari, with a target completion date of February 5, 2026, coinciding with LeT’s annual Kashmir Solidarity Day.

LeT is also reportedly raising funds through fronts disguised as “flood relief” campaigns, echoing its earlier misuse of humanitarian donations via Jamaat-ud-Dawa.

A dossier cited by agencies accuses Pakistani institutions, including the Army and ISI, of complicity, alleging that Islamabad is actively supporting LeT to preserve its infrastructure and aid its resurgence.

Markaz Tayyaba is considered not just a training ground but also a radicalization hub. It is believed to enroll nearly 1,000 students annually, offering courses in arms handling, intelligence gathering, and ideological indoctrination—serving both internal radicalization and external influence.
