Meanwhile, the Foreign Office said that all measures were being taken for the assistance, safety and welfare of Pakistani nationals in China ever since the outbreak of coronavirus there.

Islamabad: Work on the project under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Pakistan’s South Punjab was Thursday stopped in wake of growing coronavirus.

Officials said the screening process of 71 Chinese engineers and their security personnel was underway to diagnose any kind of virus in their bodies.

Meanwhile, the Foreign Office said that all measures were being taken for the assistance, safety and welfare of Pakistani nationals in China ever since the outbreak of coronavirus there.

At her weekly news briefing in Islamabad on Thursday, Foreign Office spokesperson Aisha Farooqui said, “Our embassy and consulates in China have reached out to all the Pakistani students. She said we are also in touch with the Chinese officials who have assured us about the safety and wellbeing of our nationals.”
