Pakistan Govt to disclose its view on verdict

High treason case against Pervez Musharraf would be made public after its legal team reviews the verdict.

Islamabad: Special assistant to Prime Minister on information and broadcasting, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said the government’s narrative about the detailed verdict of the special court in the high treason case against Pervez Musharraf would be made public after its legal team reviews the verdict. She said that the government would comply with the protection of the law and that it was the responsibility  of Musharraf’s  lawyer to decide about the filing of appeal against the decision of the special court. She also added on Thursday that ensuring transparency and good governance was the top-most priority of present government.

She said that far-reaching reforms were being carried out in the press information department, and a new advertisement policy was being introduced to ensure transparency.
