Tokyo: A Japanese court sentenced a man who admitted assassinating former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to life imprisonment, according to NHK public television.

The Nara District Court confirmed the verdict and sentenced Yamagami to life in prison, as prosecutors requested.
