London: A number of posters reading 'Rapefugees not welcome' have appeared on lamp posts and bus stops at various places in UK.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, the posters said to be anti-immigration, are being investigated by police. The posters feature a woman running away from a group of men holding knives in their hands.

It also features a caption that reads, "North West Infidels - Fighting For White Rights". Some of the posters also display the name Mohammad and also feature offensive statements.

A number of residents have noticed the posters and have filed complaints, requesting the authorities to pull them down. "It's just not right, they shouldn't be there. They're awful," said one resident, terming the posters as embarrassing.

"I've phoned the council back up and I've also reported them to the police - it needs to stop," said another.
