A Disney store withdrew a mug from sale after a girl’s tongue got stuck in it. Megan Donald, 7, was unable to remove her tongue from the lid while at school in Kirkintilloch, near Glasgow. The opening of the cup was too small for her tongue to wriggle out of.

It was removed by hospital staff using a hacksaw and drill after four hours. The store removed all mugs and destroyed all current versions of the mug. Megan’s mother Natalie Donald called for the product to be recalled so that other children don’t suffer the same injury as Megan, whose tongue was swollen after the incident.
