Family-Sponsored Visa Action Dates Advanced by US DOS for India

The US has significantly advanced August visa bulletin dates for several India family-sponsored visa categories, with the biggest jump in the F2A category for spouses and children of permanent residents.

The United States department of state (DOS) has advanced several visa slots for India in the August visa bulletin in the family-sponsored ‘F’ visas. The F2A visa slots were advanced by more than one and a half years, while the F1 family-sponsored visa was advanced by almost a year.

The final action dates for the F1 visa, which is allotted to the unmarried sons and daughters of US citizens, has been advanced by 10 and a half months from February 1, 2018, to December 15, 2018, while the filing dates for the same category has been advanced by 11 months from January 1, 2019 to December 1, 2019.

The final action date for F2A visa, allotted to spouses and children of permanent residents, was advanced by more than 18 months, from January 1, 2025, to July 22, 2026, while the filing dates are set to current for the visa class.

While the final action dates for the F2B visa, allocated to unmarried sons and daughters of permanent residents, was advanced by a little over a month from November 22, 2017, to January 1, 2018, the filing dates have advanced by almost seven months from June 8, 2018, to January 19, 2019.

The final action dates for F3 visas, allotted to the married sons and daughters of US citizens, was advanced by one month from April 15, 2012, to May 15, 2012, but the filing dates have been advanced by three months from December 8, 2012, to March 1, 2013. The filing and final action dates for F4 visas, issued to the brothers and sisters of US citizens, have not seen any changes.

While the certain special immigrant class visas (EB-4 visas) and certain religious worker visa classes have seen slight advancements for its final action dates by one month for each, other EB-visas have seen no change in either the final action dates or the filing dates.
