Trump's prime-time address offered an update on the progress made toward achieving his goals in the war with Iran
President Donald Trump said U.S. forces will “finish the job” in Iran soon as “core strategic objectives are nearing completion,” in a full-throated defense of the war Wednesday night in his first national address since the conflict began more than a month ago. He suggested that the U.S. military could meet his estimated timeline for concluding operations within two to three weeks.
Earlier on Wednesday, Trump claimed Iran’s president wanted a ceasefire ahead of his speech to the American people. Trump made the claim on his Truth Social website. Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson said Trump’s remarks were “false and baseless.”
Kamal Kharazi, a senior adviser to Iran's supreme leader, sustained injuries during a US-Israeli strike on the Iranian capital, CNN reported, citing the country's semi-official Mehr News Agency. Read more:
