TIRUPATI: The nine-day annual Srivari Brahmotsavams at Tirumala concluded on Thursday with lakhs of devotees witnessing the festivities and offering prayers to Lord Venkateswara. The event, which began on September 24, ended on October 2 in a smooth and organised manner, drawing pilgrims from across the country.

Addressing a press conference in Tirumala, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust Board chairman B.R. Naidu, accompanied by executive officer Anil Kumar Singhal, lauded the collective efforts of TTD departments, the district administration, police, Srivari Sevaks and other supporting agencies.

“Every department of TTD worked in coordination, ensuring that the massive influx of pilgrims experienced a smooth and fulfilling darshan,” Naidu said. He maintained that the TTD workforce served with restraint even under extreme pressure, with senior officials closely supervising the unfolding of various events.

Sharing statistics, the TTD chairman said during the nine days of Brahmotsavams, 6.55 lakh devotees had darshan of Lord Venkateswara, with hundi collections being ₹27.78 crore. 26 lakh devotees had Annaprasadam and 2.42 lakh devotees offered their hair. Over 28 lakh laddus had been sold during the festival.

On transport arrangements, Naidu said APSRTC played a crucial role, carrying 4.40 lakh devotees from Tirupati to Tirumala in 14,459 trips and 5.22 lakh devotees from Tirumala to Tirupati in 14,765 trips.

Naidu particularly highlighted improvements in darshan, vahana sevas, Annaprasadam, laddu distribution, accommodation, transportation, and tonsure facilities.

On Garuda Seva day, apart from the 1.90 lakh devotees being accommodated in the galleries around the Mada streets, 30,000 pilgrims had darshan through holding points and another 15,000 through second-filling arrangements. Sixteen varieties of Annaprasadam had been served to devotees waiting in the galleries on the Garuda Seva day.
