Samsung Unveils Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8 and Flip8 at Unpacked Event
The launch comes months before the rumoured debut of Apple's foldable iPhone

Samsung on Wednesday unveiled three new Galaxy Z foldable smartphones at its Galaxy Unpacked event in London.
The South Korean tech giant introduced the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8. The launch comes months before the rumoured debut of Apple's foldable iPhone.
“As AI becomes more agentic, mobile devices will become the most personal entry point to experiences that understand and adapt to each user,” said TM Roh, Chief Executive Officer, President and Head of the Device eXperience (DX) Division at Samsung Electronics.
Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra
Samsung launched its flagship foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. It features an 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and Vision Booster. The cover screen features a 6.5-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and Vision Booster.

The Z Fold8 Ultra sports a triple rear camera setup comprising a 50MP ultra-wide camera, a 200MP wide camera with 2x optical zoom, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. It supports 8K video recording through the new APV codec. The device also features a 10MP selfie camera and a 10MP under-display main camera.
It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 45W wired fast charging and 20W wireless charging. It ships with Android 17-based One UI 9.
The foldable will be available in three storage variants: 16GB RAM with 1TB storage, 12GB RAM with 512GB storage, and 12GB RAM with 256GB storage.
It will be available in four colour options: Graphite, Cream and Violet Shadow, while Green Shadow will be available exclusively on Samsung.com.
Galaxy Z Fold8
Samsung claims the Galaxy Z Fold8 is its lightest Z Fold yet, weighing 201g and it is of the size of a passport.
The device features a 7.6-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and Vision Booster. The cover display is a 5.5-inch WUXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and Vision Booster.

Samsung said the foldable features Flex Titanium technology, designed to make the device thinner and more durable. According to the company, the technology combines a titanium-alloy film with an enhanced titanium plate to better absorb pressure and impact while reducing crease visibility over time.
The display offers up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness and a low-reflection finish. It ships with Android 17-based One UI 9.

Galaxy Z Flip8
The Galaxy Z Flip8 features a 6.9-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and Vision Booster. The cover display is a 4.1-inch Super AMOLED panel with a 60Hz/120Hz adaptive refresh rate and Vision Booster.
Unlike the Fold models, the Galaxy Z Flip8 is powered by Samsung's Exynos 2600 processor.

It features a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP wide-angle camera and a 12MP ultra-wide camera, along with a 10MP front-facing selfie camera.
The foldable packs a 4,300mAh battery with support for 25W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. It ships with Android 17-based One UI 9.
The Galaxy Z Flip8 will be available in two storage variants: 12GB RAM with 512GB storage and 12GB RAM with 256GB storage.
It will be available in Graphite, Cream and Pink colour options, while Mint will be available exclusively on Samsung.com.
Indian customers can pre-order the Z series tonight and the devices would be available for sale early next month.
