Why the Galaxy Note 10 is possibly slower than last year’s iPhone

A recent benchmark score depicts the Galaxy Note 10 to be slower than the iPhone XS from last year.

Samsung will launch the latest Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+ in a few days in New York on August 7. The new Samsung flagship is a much waited device and is set to be one of the most powerful devices of the year.

However a recent Geekbench score of the upcoming Note 10 says otherwise.

A Geekbench benchmarking score surfaced for the model number ‘Samsung SM-N976N’ which is reportedly the Galaxy Note 10’s Korean version. The handset score stands at 10,431 on the multi-core test.

In contrast, last year’s iPhone XS stood at 11,261 on the same test, while the iPhone XS Max stood at 11, 216. While this may not necessarily mean anything, it is still a concern for android fans who follow benchmark scores.

It is also noteworthy that recent versions of the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ had higher benchmark scores. This suggests that the benchmarks for older versions of the device are meaningless if improvements and optimizations have been made over time.

It will be best to wait out the launch of the Note 10, which is not so far away anyway, before deriving conclusions on the speed based on benchmarks.
