Xiaomi announced the flagship Mi 5 on February 23 at the MWC 2106.

Xiaomi had recently unveiled and launched the flagship Mi 5 smartphone at the MWC in Barcelona. The Chinese tech giant went gaga over the device being one of the fastest and with loads of features. Well, the company is definitely doing wonders with keeping the smartphone’s hardware a top priority and top quality; they are surely managing to steal the industry’s attraction by keeping the price at a reasonably pocketable price. The Xiaomi Mi 5 will have three variants and will retail starting from Rs 20,000 onwards. The Xiaomi Mi 5 Pro will sport a 5.3-inch Full HD display with a powerful Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4GB of RAM and 128GBof storage. The cameras will sport a 16MP sensor on the rear and a 5MP on the front.

The rear camera was especially in focus as the 16MP Sony sensor was equipped with an active 4-axis optical image stabilizer. The OIS compensates for shaking across all possible directions while taking videos or snapping photos. This feature ensures you have minimal or absolutely no blur while shooting even at 4K resolutions and helps keep your photos and videos sharp and clear.

After the event, Hugo Barra, the VP for Xiaomi Global, posted a demo video, (also shown on stage during the launch event) which shows the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6S Plus sitting on either side of the Xiaomi Mi 5 on the same plate which shakes together while showing a video. The three smartphones were moving or shaking at the same speed, and the Mi 5 was the only one which could keep the subject in focus and maintain clarity. Check out the demo video of the Xiaomi Mi 5 in action where the OIS helps the smartphone capture photos and videos with barely registering any distortion.
