Samsung launches rugged 8-inch tablet Galaxy Tab Active 2 for businesses

South Korean consumer electronics giant Samsung has launched yet another rugged tablet. The company has launched its new Galaxy Tab Active 2 with S Pen support and also features Bixby voice assistant, which is the highlight of the device.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 features military standard MIL-STD 810G (rugged) certification and a display that supports touch with when wearing gloves. The device is also IP68 rated for protection against water as well as dust. The display is also said to work even with wet fingers. The tab also sports a fingerprint scanner that is located on the front.

Talking about specifications, the tablet features an 8-inch TFT display panel with a resolution of 1280x800 pixels. It is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7880 SoC clubbed with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, and expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card.

In the photography area, the tablet sports an 8MP rear camera and 5MP front shooter for selfies. The device is backed by a 4450mAh battery for powering the device. In terms of connectivity, the tablet offers Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and a USB Type-C port. The device also features LTE connectivity and convenient power charging with efficient battery control of multiple devices and additional data signal pins for an optional keyboard connection.

The Samsung Galaxy 2 Tab Active will launch by the end of this month in certain markets. However, the company has not yet revealed the price of the tablet.
