Redmi K30 with 5G support is coming sooner than you think

The phone will come with 5G capabilities and a dual front-facing camera in a punch-hole notch.

Rumours of a Xiaomi successor to the immensely popular Redmi K20 series of devices have been in the air for a long time. We heard a few weeks ago that the device would come with 5G support and a punch hole in the display for the front facing camera. Now, the Chinese company has confirmed approximate release times for the new device.

According to Lu Weibing, Vice President of Xiaomi, the 5G enabled Redmi K30 could be unveiled in as early as 2020. The VP mentioned “2020, Redmi 5G is a pioneer. K30 see!”. The rough translation points to a nearby launch for the new flagship.

The Redmi K30 could come with dual 5G standby support and the phone could run on a Qualcomm 7250 chipset that would allow the 5G capabilities. The phone will also sport a dual front-facing camera in the punch-hole notch. While not much more is known about the Redmi K30 yet, with an imminent launch nearby, we should have more information and leaks coming out soon.
