Xiaomi Mi 6 smartphone to launch this month, may cost Rs 18,000

Xiaomi has confirmed that it will be launching its next flagship smartphone later this month.

The three-year syndicated loan comes as China's tech giants look to diversify their businesses as e-commerce growth slows, with rivals from Baidu Inc to Alibaba pushing into new areas from cloud computing to artificial intelligence.

Xiaomi recently confirmed that they will be launching their speculated Mi 6 smartphone later this month. Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun confirmed the news via a live-streaming session. While we are still unaware of the exact launch date, several rumours claim that it will most probably be between dates April 11 to 18.

As far as the specifications of the device are concerned, the Xiaomi Mi 6 smartphone is expected to be powered by a MediaTek Helio X30 SoC. The second version will most possibly be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chipset. While the former will be priced at CNY 1,999; the latter may cost CNY 2,499.

The devices will sport a physical Home button with an embedded fingerprint sensor along with a dual-rear camera setup.
