Silicon Labs expands in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Nasdaq-listed Silicon Labs on Wednesday opened its largest centre for engineering and wireless connectivity innovation in Hyderabad as it expects to triple headcount in the next three years.

Matt Johnson, president and CEO, Silicon Labs, said the company employs 500 people currently and plans to hire around 1,000 people in Hyderabad for developing cutting-edge IoT wireless products and solutions.

"I am pleased to learn that you have ramped up from two hundred to five hundred, but much more music to my years is, you are planning to triple it hopefully in the next two or three years," said Jayesh Ranjan.

The new office was inaugurated by Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan. IT minister K.T. Rama Rao was scheduled to inaugurate the office but could not keep the appointment due to other pressing engagements.
