Express Avenue, run by the Express Infrastructure Pvt Ltd, today launched a robot "EA BOT" aimed at enhancing customer experience of visitors to the shopping mall.

The EA-BOT, a five-feet robot, is equipped with 22-inch screen that will help the guests visiting the mall get access to details of stores, directions, deals of the day offered by various shops, a press release said.

The 85kg robot will roam around the central atrium of Express Avenue mall located at Royapettah in the city. EA BOT is automatic and has a specific perimeter and travel zone, it said.

"I hope EA BOT will be useful for mall guests rather than the excitement factors it carries," Express Infrastructure chairperson Saroj Goenka said.

British Deputy High Commissioner Bharat Joshi, Australian Deputy Consul-General for South India, Jon Bonnar and Goenka were among those present at the launch.
