Instagram now available for Windows 10 desktops and laptops

Earlier the app was only available for Windows 10 Mobile devices, but is now making its way to Windows 10 PCs and laptops.

Instagram was made available for Windows 10 Mobile in April alongside Facebook and Messenger.

Popular picture sharing platform Instagram is finally available for Windows 10 desktop and tablet users. Earlier the app was only available for Windows 10 Mobile devices. Users can download the Windows 10 PC app from the Windows App Store.

Instagram for Windows 10 tablets will also allow users to click, edit and share pictures directly from the device and also includes features like Stories, Direct and Explore. The App Store listing of the app reads “Keep in mind that other devices running Windows 10 may not support certain features, like the ability to capture and upload photos and videos.”

Instagram recently crossed 1 billion downloads on Google Play, joining apps like WhatsApp, Facebook and Messenger. Instagram has a user base of 500 million monthly users. It was made available for Windows 10 Mobile in April alongside Facebook and Messenger.

“We're excited to expand to more of the Windows community by bringing Instagram to tablets running Windows 10," said Instagram team on its availability for Windows 10 desktop and laptops.
