Google's new OS to run on virtually anything

Google is rumoured to be working on a new operating system called Fuchsia.

Update: 2016-08-14 06:29 GMT
The name has been derived from a genus name, Fuchsia which stands for a strong, vivid purplish red based on the flowers primarily cultivated in North America.

Most of Google’s operating systems including Chrome and Android have been functioning on Linux. While, these have been able to facilitate majority of the requirements; Google seems to apparently be working on a third operating system.

According to the  code repository appeared on GitHub and Google Source, it will be called Fuchsia and will operate across wide range of devices.

It will make use of a custom version of Little Kernel called ‘Magenta’ that will be tuned for modern phones and personal computers. The inner constructs of Magenta are based on Little Kernel but the layers above are new. For example, Magenta has the concept of a process but the latter doesn’t. However, a Magenta process is made by LK-level constructs such as threads and memory.

What’s more? Fuchsia is also said to make use of Google’s Dart programming language, as well as the company's Material Design-friendly Flutter user interface framework.

For now, this is as far as we can get to know about this rumored concept by Google. We’ hear about it as and when the developers make it official.
