WhatsApp alert! This feature is going to make a comeback

Rumour has it that WhatsApp is planning on bringing its text Status feature back.

Update: 2017-03-13 08:01 GMT
WhatsApp made its Status' feature live on February 24 this year, which allows users to send photos, videos and GIFs throughout their day with friends and family. Instagram launched the story feature last August and reached 150 million daily users in January.

Facebook-owned WhatsApp recently updated its chatting platform with a new ‘Status’ feature. WhatsApp users can now add pictures and videos as their Statuses on the chatting app. The feature is similar to Snapchat’s ‘Stories’ feature.

The new update added by WhatsApp received a mixed response. While there were many who thought the addition was exciting and fun, at the same time, many criticised it.

However, it appears like ‘Text’ statuses are finally returning on WhatsApp. According to a report published by India Times, WhatsApp is planning on reinforcing the good old text status back very soon.

According to the information provided by the report, the Status tab won’t be replaced; instead, the old text-field has entered in the latest beta version of the app.

The WhatsApp beta 2.17.95 apparently consists of the new update. The company hasn’t made any official comments on this report yet.
