Ever since its announcement in 2016, gamers have been excited to finally play a big budget Spider-Man game, which will hopefully have an effect similar to what Arkham Asylum had on Batman video games.

While it had been previously confirmed that God of War and Detroit: Become Human will launch in April and May respectively, all eyes were on Sony’s next, and arguably their biggest, exclusive game — Spider-Man.

They have now confirmed that Marvel’s Spider-Man, developed by Insomniac Games (creators of Spyro, Ratchet and Clank and Resistance) will be available on September 7, 2018 for PlayStation 4. You will be able to play an all new original story featuring a slightly older and more experienced Peter Parker. Mary Jane was also confirmed as a playable character last year, which should add an interesting contrast to playing Spider-Man of course.

They took this opportunity to announce several different editions of the game with unique bonuses and extra goodies. Anyone who pre-orders the game will receive the Spider Drone gadget, a PSN avatar, a PS4 theme, extra skill points and three new suits including Spider-Punk.

The digital deluxe edition is available for Rs 4,999 and comes with The City That Never Sleeps DLC which includes three new chapters each with its own missions, villains as well as additional suits. As expected, the collector’s edition will include all of the above mentioned content in addition to a steelbook case, a mini artbook and a statue featuring Spider-Man’s unique new look. Similar to God of War, there is a high chance this collector’s edition will be available in India on release day through one of the top gaming retailers and possibly select large format retail outlets as well.

Ever since its announcement in 2016, gamers have been excited to finally play a big budget Spider-Man game, which will hopefully have an effect similar to what Arkham Asylum had on Batman video games. All the trailers and footage we have seen, especially the web swinging, has reassured us that our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man is in good hands.
