Google pat for app developers of Kerala

Kozhikode: “Google is listening to the app developer community of Kerala which is  capable of addressing some of the real problems faced by  the Indian IT industry,” said Mr Rajan Anandan, Google India MD and vice-president,  South-east Asia.  He was addressing the IT students, budding entrepreneurs and various others in the IT sector at  the inauguration of the  Mobile 10X Incubation Centre at Cyber Park here on Wednesday.

An MoU in this regard was signed by Kerala IT Parks CEO Hrishikesh Nair on behalf of Kerala government and Internet and Mobile Association of India  CEO Jitender Singh Minhas on behalf of IAMAI. 

“The association of IAMAI with Kerala Startup Mission and the state government will enable the creation of IT ecosystem at the  Cyber Park in Kozhikode. The objective of the incubation hub is to help entrepreneurs who are building mobile first products and services. The launch of Mobile 10X in Kerala will enable affordable access,  devices, local language-friendly and locally relevant products and services,” he added.

The  centre will offer co-working, training, mentoring, design and testing labs, monetisation zone, industry and investors’ connect to the digital start-ups of the state with structure programmes enabling Cyber Park to be a centre of excellence in app development.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, in a web message, congratulated Cyber Park and extended the state government’s support for the incubation facility. He also urged the mobile app developer community of Kerala to develop citizen-friendly apps that will help the people  access e-governance services provided by the Kerala government.

The event was also attended by Mr M. Sivasankar, IT secretary, Dr. Subho Roy, president, IAMAI, and Mr Saji Gopinath, CEO, Kerala Start-up Mission.  The facility has been set up in the 12,500 sq-ft Park Centre building at Cyber Park.
