It seems that WhatsApp is in no mood to slow down. The instant messaging service has released two new updates for iOS users for a better experience.

With the new update, iPhone users can now check status updates in the WhatsApp widget in iPhone’s Today View. Furthermore, the WhatsApp for iPhone update also enhances the voice messaging feature, allowing WhatsApp voice messages to play even if users switch to another app. The voice message continues even if the screen is off. A notification is displayed on the screen that shows an audio message is being played in the background.

The update is available for smartphones running iOS 7.0 and later. Also, the features are a part of WhatsApp version 2.18.40, which can be downloaded from the App Store.

Additionally, WABetaInfo reported that WhatsApp might soon roll out several other features such as “Dark mode, Touch ID, polls in groups, pinned messages, username to hide the phone number and new groups with 4096 participants for all iOS, Android, Windows Phone users".

Besides, WhatsApp recently rolled out a new feature in a Beta update, allowing users to migrate their account data and settings to a new mobile number without having to create a new account. With this feature, WhatsApp users can also notify all their contacts or selected contacts about the old number. Thus, making it easier to make the switch.
