Google’s AI Overviews Hits 2 Billion Users; Gemini App Surges to 450 Million

Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced that AI Overviews now has 2 billion monthly users, up from 1.5 billion in May 2025.

AI Overviews is a Google Search feature that provides AI-generated summaries of search results and is currently available in 200 countries.

Google’s Gemini app has also seen significant growth, reaching 450 million monthly active users. “We continue to see strong growth and engagement, with daily requests growing over 50% from Q1,” said Pichai.

Additionally, Google’s AI Mode—which delivers comprehensive, conversational responses to user queries based on information from across the web—now has over 100 million monthly active users. The feature was recently rolled out in India.

Google also reported that over 50 million people have used AI-powered meeting notes in Google Meet. Since May, more than 70 million videos have been created using the Veo 3 AI model.
