Elon Musk’s xAI Rolls Out Image and Video Generator 'Grok Imagine'

Elon Musk’s xAI has rolled out its new AI-powered image and video generation tool, Grok Imagine, for SuperGrok and Premium Plus X users on the iOS app.

Grok Imagine includes a “spicy mode” that allows users to generate sexualized content, making it one of the few mainstream AI tools to make NSFW content. The tool features both a text-to-image function, which creates images based on user descriptions, and an image-to-video function, which turns images into short video clips with audio effects.

Notably, Grok Imagine does not support video generation directly from text prompts. Instead, users must upload an image — either from their gallery or one generated in Grok — to create a video.

The image generator also includes a voice mode, enabling users to give prompts by speaking instead of typing. The video generator offers four modes: Custom, Normal, Fun, and Spicy.

Billionaire Elon Musk has described Grok Imagine as an “AI Vine,” referencing the short-form video platform. According to testing by TechCrunch, the image generator is less restrictive compared to similar tools, although some limitations remain — such as restrictions around generating images of celebrities.

Grok Imagine has also begun rolling out in early access for Grok’s Android app. However, users have reported that while image generation is working, the video generation feature is not yet functional on Android.
