Dropbox will discontinue its password manager in three phases.
Dropbox has announced that it will discontinue its password manager, Dropbox Passwords, on October 28, 2025.
“As part of our efforts to focus on enhancing other features in our core product, Dropbox Passwords will be discontinued on October 28, 2025,” said Dropbox.
Dropbox is recommending its users to transfer passwords to another password manager app, such as 1Password, ahead of shutdown. “Once the final shutoff date passes on October 28, 2025, we will not be able to retrieve your data,” the company said.
The company said that it will discontinue its password manager in three phases. Starting August 28, Dropbox Passwords will become view-only in both the mobile app and browser extension. On September 11, the Dropbox Passwords will stop working on the mobile app. On October 28, the password manager will be fully discontinued.
Following the final shutoff date, all Dropbox Passwords data will be permanently and securely deleted, according to the company.
