Apple’s iPhone Ultra Could Be US-Only at Launch, India Rollout May Be Delayed: Report

Apple is just weeks away from launching its first foldable iPhone alongside the iPhone 18 Pro series, and a new report claims that the company will initially roll out the “iPhone Ultra” only in the United States.

According to a report by ChannelNews Australia, Apple’s first foldable iPhone will launch on September 8 and will initially be available in the US, followed by other key markets.

A Chinese supplier reportedly told ChannelNews Australia that Apple is “battling supply, testing and pricing problems” with its foldable iPhone.

The supplier reportedly said the delay is “primarily down to supply and pricing issues,” adding, “We believe the company is also having testing issues with production models that have already been built.”

The report stated that the foldable iPhone will be a “no-show” on retail shelves in markets outside the US.

If the report turns out to be accurate, the foldable iPhone could face a delayed rollout in India. Indian customers may have to wait until the company expands availability to other key markets.

However, it remains to be seen whether there will be a delay in the rollout of the iPhone Ultra next month. Meanwhile, the September 8 launch date cited in the report contradicts a date reported by Bloomberg, which says September 9 is the most likely date for Apple’s launch event.

According to Bloomberg, September 9 (Wednesday) is the most likely date for the event, as Labour Day in the US falls on September 7 (Monday). The timing would also preserve the workday travel window that Apple has traditionally provided for attendees.

The September 9 date reported by Bloomberg appears more credible, as Apple is unlikely to schedule its major launch event after a holiday.
