Apple to Host ‘Awe Dropping’ Event on September 9; iPhone 17 Lineup Expected

Apple has confirmed that it will be hosting its “Awe Dropping” event on September 9, where the iPhone 17 lineup is expected to be the highlight.

The event will take place at the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California, starting at 10 AM PT (10:30 PM IST).

According to reports, Apple is expected to launch an ultra-slim iPhone 17 Air alongside the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max models.

The company is also likely to unveil the Apple Watch SE 3, Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch Ultra 3, iPad Pro with the M5 chip and dual front-facing cameras, as well as a faster version of the Vision Pro headset, Bloomberg reported. Apple is also planning to launch the HomePod mini and Apple TV box.

The standard iPhone 17 will reportedly look similar to the iPhone 16 but with a larger display and improved camera. The iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max are expected to feature redesigned backs and further camera enhancements.

Apple is aiming to attract new customers with the thinner iPhone 17 Air, rumored to be 2mm slimmer than current models. However, the slimmer design may come with drawbacks: a smaller battery and only one rear camera.

Apple’s “Awe Dropping” event will be livestreamed on the company’s website and YouTube channel, with product pre-orders expected to begin later in the same week.
