The device is expected to cost more than the newly launched HomeView, with the final price potentially affected by rising costs of RAM and other components.
Apple is reportedly delaying the launch of its rumoured smart home robot until next year or even 2028, according to a report by The Information.
The report stated that the robot's hardware has been ready for the past two years, whereas its software is still unfinished.
According to the report, the software team pushed for a delay in the product's launch and “attempted to strip back some proposed features and focus the product on a few capabilities related to FaceTime and automating home tasks, like switching on a light.”
The product is codenamed J595, while former Apple employees reportedly believe the device could be called "HomeView Ultra", resembling the name of the HomeView smart display launched in October. The upcoming device is also expected to cost more than the newly launched HomeView, with its final price potentially affected by rising costs of RAM and other components.

As for its features, The Information reported that Apple's smart home robot will feature a 9-inch display, a camera, and sensors that will allow it to follow users around during FaceTime calls.
