Yami Gautam Signs Author-Backed ‘Shero’ Film

After her highly acclaimed Haq, Yami Gautam was looking for a script that would allow her to stretch her acting wings even further. Looks like she’s found it. Yami has signed on for Main Ritu Hoon, a ‘Shero’ film based on a true story, directed by Vijay Maurya.

The actress chose this project over the other offers she received, as the role portrays the modern Indian woman in all her shades—black, grey and white. Vijay Maurya began his career as a stage actor. He has worked in 14 original plays, which had a total of over 2500 shows, directed over a hundred commercials. Main Ritu Hoon is his first big-screen project.
