A fashion blogger quickly called her out with a now-iconic line: “She can afford a Birkin, but not a real Labubu?”

Labubus have officially taken over — and so have the knockoffs. The bug-eyed plush toy is Bollywood’s latest “It” accessory, spotted dangling from the arms (and bags) of celebs everywhere.

Case in point: Urvashi Rautela at Wimbledon, flaunting four clipped to her Hermes Birkin. It was a “quiet luxury” moment — until the internet chimed in.

“She can afford a Birkin, but not a real Labubu?” a fashion blogger quipped.

Turns out, the toys weren’t Labubus at all. They were Lafufus. Close, but not quite.

The confusion was finally cleared up by Ananya Panday, who’s often spotted with her own Labubu (or was it?) clipped to a Chanel. In a video that has since gone viral, shared by socialite and bestie Orhan Awatramani (Orry), Ananya admitted she’d been duped too.

Apparently, a friend tried launching a Labubu business and ordered 100 dolls, only to receive a shipment of Lafufus instead. Pointing the camera at the doll on her bag, Orry asked, “Ananya, is this fake?” She replied: “It is! But it’s on a Chanel bag, so no one will ever know.”
