Telugu Production House Files Complaint Against Dhruv Vikram

Tamil actor Dhruv Vikram, son of star actor Vikram, is entangled in an industry dispute, with a Telugu production house filing a complaint against him over an allegedly stalled film project. The South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce (SIFCC) has convened a meeting to resolve the issue.

The complaint was filed by Neeladhri Productions Pvt. Ltd., represented by producer Sireesha, through the Telugu Film Producers Council (TFPC). Acting on the complaint, the SIFCC has referred the matter to its Conciliation Committee, which will hear both parties on August 10 in Chennai.

According to the official communication, Dhruv Vikram has been asked to appear before the committee either personally or through an authorised representative. He has also been requested to submit a written explanation.

The dispute reportedly concerns a Telugu-Tamil film launched in August 2025 with director Ramesh Varma. The film’s opening ceremony was held at Vikram’s residence in Chennai, generating considerable buzz. Industry sources claim the producers invested heavily in the project, including constructing an elaborate train set in Mumbai and paying `1 crore as advance to Dhruv Vikram, besides incurring production-related expenses of nearly `20 crore.

However, the project allegedly came to a standstill over creative differences. Sources say Dhruv Vikram sought a change of director and expressed preferences regarding choice of female lead. It is also learnt that the actor actively participated in the creative process, including composing a song for the film. As disagreements reportedly intensified, the production failed to move forward.

With the project now said to be under consideration by another production house, the original producers are seeking either the immediate revival of the film under the existing agreement or suitable compensation for the financial losses they claim to have suffered.

“The agreement signed between the actor and the producers is quite comprehensive. If an amicable settlement is not reached, the matter could eventually take a legal course,” said a Chamber member familiar with the developments.

Confirming the registration of the complaint, Telugu Film Producers Council Secretary T. Prasanna Kumar said, “It is true that the Telugu Film Producers Council has forwarded the complaint to the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce. The Conciliation Committee will examine the matter and take an appropriate decision.”
