SRK Opts Out of Rajini’s ‘Jailer 2’ Cameo
Talks in progress with Pawan Kalyan for the role
Shah Rukh Khan, who reportedly had a cameo in Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 and was even said to have allocated a five-day schedule for filming high-octane stunts in Chennai, appears to have opted out of the project, in order to prioritize is own upcoming film King.
A source close to the Jailer 2 team says talks are on with Tollywood star Pawan Kalyan to replace SRK in the cameo role as a police officer.
SRK is said to have requested that the Jailer 2 release be scheduled after King, his daughter Suhana's big-screen launch vehicle, ‘as he wanted his appearance to remain exclusive to that film,’ but that couldn’t be done. Jailer 2, directed by Nelson Dilip Kumar, is almost complete, and the release has been fixed for June 12.
Jailer 2 features S.J. Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Ramya Krishnan, Mirnaa and Yogi Babu in key supporting roles. Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar are expected to reprise their characters from the first film, while Mithun Chakraborty and Vijay Sethupathi are reported to appear in special cameos.
