Sridevi’s ‘Mom’ Sequel To Undergo Reshoots

Boney Kapoor’s hopes of relaunching daughter Khushi Kapoor with the sequel to Mom have hit a hurdle. Sources say Khushi has struggled to match the emotional intensity of Sridevi’s performance in the original film.

The project is currently on hold, with some of Khushi’s key dramatic scenes reportedly not shaping up as expected.

Director Girish Kohli, who wrote the original Mom and is directing the sequel, has been asked by producer Boney Kapoor to reshoot certain portions.

Kapoor believes Mom 2 carries Sridevi’s legacy and therefore demands a high level of responsibility towards the legendary actor.

Carrying that legacy forward is no easy task. This is also why Khushi’s sister Janhvi Kapoor has chosen not to remake any of her mother’s films. Says Janhvi, “It is way too risky. As it is I am compared with my mom all the time. If I do one of her films I will be butchered.”
