Simi Defends Ravan As ‘Naughty’

Trust Simi Garewal to stir up a festive storm with her words. On Dussehra, while most were cheering Ram’s victory over evil, the veteran actress and talk show diva flipped the script, going soft on mythology’s biggest villain.
Taking to X, Simi penned a tongue-in-cheek note addressed to Ravan himself. “Technically, your behaviour should be re-classified from ‘Evil’ to ‘Slightly naughty’,” she wrote, before cheekily adding, “Tumne kiya hi kya tha?”
She argued that after kidnapping Sita, Ravan treated her with more respect than women get today — providing food, shelter, and even women guards. The jab didn’t end there. In a dig at present-day politics, Simi quipped that the ten-headed king was “more educated than half of our Parliament.”
Signing off, she admitted there were “no hard feelings” about burning his effigies every year—it’s just tradition. “Happy Dussehra,” she wrapped up, leaving the internet divided and amused.
