A new wave of fusion styling is taking over celebrity wardrobes, with shirts, tees, and even corsets stepping in as the unexpected plus-ones to six yards of elegance. Keerthy Suresh recently turned heads during promotions for her Prime Video film Uppukappurambu, where she paired a soft pastel saree with a structured denim corset-style top. Typically teamed with jeans, the corset added a bold, contemporary edge to her otherwise traditional look.
Before her, Sanya Malhotra brought her own playful twist to the trend at the launch of her brand ‘Breematcha’. Draping a green ikat saree over a printed tee, she nailed the effortless, Gen Z-approved vibe that makes comfort look undeniably cool.
Earlier, Taapsee Pannu was also seen walking the streets of Paris in a sunshine-yellow saree paired with a striped shirt. With more celebrities turning to street-style staples to refresh the classic saree, this mix-and-match trend is gaining serious fashion momentum.
