The next chapter of PS Mithran’s spy franchise opens today
“I feel extremely lucky to play a spy in Sardar 2, which carries the same depth and responsibility for me as Indian does for Kamal Haasan sir,” shared Karthi.
Speaking at the promo meet for the film which hits theatres today, the actor described Sardar 2 produced by Lakshman Kumar under the Prince Pictures banner as a major milestone in his career.
He emphasized that director P.S. Mithran had elevated the spy franchise to a much larger, high-stakes level, aiming to match the scale and action quality of international cinema.
Praising his co-star S.J. Suryah, who plays the main antagonist Black Dagger, Karthi said “It is a highly entertaining role tailor-made for him.” He also revealed that Sardar 2 is music composer Sam C.S’s 100th film. “His music will truly elevate the theatrical experience,” he added. Finally, Karthi commended female leads Malavika Mohanan and Ashika Ranganath, noting, “The film features solid, action-oriented 'girl power' elements that balance the narrative beautifully.”
