Sanjay Dutt's ‘ghost’ character is expected to strike a strong chord with Hindi-speaking audiences across the globe
In a departure from his usual roles, Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt, who impressed audiences as menacing gangsters in films like KGF and Leo, will reportedly play a fiery ghost in Telugu film The Raja Saab.
“This is the first time Sanjay Dutt is doing a ghost character, and he has breathed life into it,” says an informed source.
His ‘ghost’ character is expected to strike a strong chord with Hindi-speaking audiences across the globe, according to the source, who also shared that the actor “worked meticulously on minute details, once again proving his acting prowess.”
Sanjay Dutt made his Tollywood debut with Puri Jagannadh’s Double iSmart, where he played a deadly gangster. Over the years, he has showcased a wide range of shades in Hindi cinema, with blockbuster films like Khalnayak, Vaastav, and Munna Bhai MBBS, seamlessly moving from grey to dark and comic roles. Though selective about Telugu projects, Dutt reportedly chose The Raja Saab as it offered him the opportunity to portray different ages — young, middle-aged and old, especially in the flashback episodes.
Producer T.G. Vishwa Prasad described the Bollywood star as a major asset to the ₹100-crore project. “It was great working with Sanjay Dutt who is a versatile actor” he said.
