Salman Khan’s ‘War Clip’ Flagged as AI-generated
A viral clip claiming to show leaked scenes from Battle of Galwan has been flagged as fake, with users citing factual errors and signs of AI manipulation, renewing concerns over digital misinformation
The video, which surfaced on X and other platforms on Friday, appeared to show Battle of Galwan star Salman Khan navigating a snow-laden terrain, injured and later wielding a baseball bat against actors portrayed as Chinese soldiers.
Given the film’s sensitive subject and Khan’s star power, the clip quickly gained traction, with many assuming it to be authentic footage from the highly anticipated project.
However, scepticism soon followed. Several users pointed out a key inconsistency: there was no snowfall during the real Galwan Valley clash, prompting doubts over the clip’s credibility.
Many noted clear signs of AI manipulation, and by Friday evening the clip was widely dismissed as fake. Though there was no official response, its spread has renewed industry concerns over the misuse of AI-generated content.
“It’s a ticking bomb if not handled responsibly,” says an industry insider. “AI must be used creatively and ethically. Otherwise, it becomes dangerously easy to manipulate narratives and mislead audiences. Studios will need to be far more vigilant going forward.”
Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Battle of Galwan is inspired by the 2020 India-China military standoff in eastern Ladakh.
