Rashmika Takes On Intense Carnatic Training for M.S. Subbulakshmi
Producer Allu Aravind says the legendary singer has chosen the actress “from heaven” for the role
Rashmika Mandanna is leaving no stone — or, shall we say, no tone — unturned to ensure her portrayal of Bharat Ratna M.S. Subbulakshmi is pitch-perfect.
According to sources close to the project, Rashmika is undergoing intensive Carnatic vocal training to bring authenticity to her portrayal.
The team had initially deliberated on whether Rashmika could render the vocals herself. There was also a proposal to use MS Subbulakshmi’s original recordings for Rashmika to lip-sync to. The idea, however, was eventually discarded as impractical.
After much deliberation, the team has decided that Rashmika will perform the vocals herself.
Speaking about Rashmika’s dedication to the role, producer Allu Aravind says, “M.S. Amma has chosen Rashmika Mandanna from Heaven and we just acted as agents! Every decision regarding the film and the actress is being taken by a power far above us.”
