The Bombay High Court has refused to halt the production and release of Queen Forever, rejecting Phantom Studios’ plea for an interim injunction against JioStar India. Phantom Studios has filed a `250-crore lawsuit claiming 50% ownership of the original Queen’s intellectual property and derivative rights. It argues that the co-production agreement requires its written consent for any sequels, prequels or adaptations.

JioStar has maintained that Queen Forever is an independent production, not a sequel, and argued that Phantom Studios delayed approaching the court despite being aware of the project since April 2025.

With the court declining to grant an interim stay, JioStar can proceed with the film’s development, marketing and theatrical release for now.
