‘One Can Never Really Tell the Fate of a Film’
Tiger Shroff has had one setback after another in the recent past. But the actor’s enthusiasm is persistent
Excerpts from an interview:
Q. Past few years haven’t been kind to your career... How do you feel?
Restless, happy, excited, blessed, grateful that the audiences are going to see a very different side of me in Baaghi 4. Looking forward to their response. The last few years... it has definitely not been easy, but it’s been a learning curve and I think because of it I’ve sort of become a better artiste.
I’ve put in all those learnings into Baaghi 4. One can never really tell the fate of a film. We’ve given our thousand percent on this one. I’m grateful God has blessed me with Baaghi franchise. It’s a very big deal for me, and I’m very grateful to Sajid Nadiadwala sir for giving me this platform.
Q Your parents have been by your side throughout the dark period...
My parents are my soulmates. I’m really grateful and blessed.
Q What do you think went wrong with your last release?
I honestly thought Bade Miyan Chote Miyan had everything going for it. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite connect with the audience. But I really enjoyed the whole process of shooting the film. My co-actor and one of my childhood heroes is Akshay Kumar, Sir. We had a blast shooting the film.
Q Baaghi 4 looks very violent...
Action is definitely my forte. I’m grateful that people have accepted me as an action hero in the industry. It’s tough to constantly reinvent myself in the genre, but with Baaghi 4, I’m quite confident that this is a different aspect, perspective and language to the action that I’ve attempted. So, hoping that the audiences enjoy that. This is a very different version of me and a different sub-genre in the action genre.
