Nagarjuna Delays Son Akhil’s ‘Lenin’ for Reshoots
Actor-producer says team is “fine-tuning” film
Akhil Akkineni will have to wait a bit longer for his comeback film to hit theatres! Lenin, earlier slated for a June 26 release, has been postponed. Confirming the delay, his father Nagarjuna Akkineni told this writer that the team needed more time to fine-tune the film.
Speaking exclusively, Nagarjuna explained why Lenin is crucial to his younger son’s career. “Akhil has not had much luck with his films so far. It is not his fault, really. The boy is hardworking and sincere. He just needs that one film to work for him… and poof! We all want Lenin to be that film. So yes, the film is being fine-tuned to become the best version of itself. A bit of delay doesn’t matter, as long as the end-product is good. Lenin should strike all the right notes.”
Nagarjuna said he felt the film could be improved, especially the action portions, after watching it. The Lenin makers accepted his inputs and suggestions.
