Naga Chaitanya on Why He Backs ‘Dhootha S2’

Naga Chaitanya has taken a bold step forward by turning producer. He will co-produce the second season of his hit series Dhootha.

Explaining the move, Chaitanya says, “Once you get immersed in something you enjoy, it inspires you to do more. That’s what motivated me to be more than just an actor on Dhootha. Director Vikram K Kumar and producer Sharrath Marar are very dear to me and we align on a lot of things. Coming together with them as a producer for Season 2 felt effortless.”

After Season 1’s success, he decided to step in. “Vikram shared some ideas with me during filming of the first season that were really exciting. We developed them together and the shift to producing happened organically.”

On cinema vs OTT, Chaitanya says: “OTT and cinema co-exist. Audiences know where they want to consume content. As makers, we have to be clear on how we position ourselves to viewers.”
