‘My Film With Salman Ji Will Be Something Really Special’

Dil Raju’s film starring Salman Khan and Nayanthara is progressing at a brisk pace. The producer discusses the project and what his focus will be, going forward

In light of the string of hits lately, are you confident that your Salman starrer will do well?

The recent successes boost the overall morale of the industry, but I would be confident about my film with Salmanji even otherwise. It is shaping into something really special. He has surrendered completely to director Vamsi Paidipally. I am amazed at Salmanji’s dedication to the part. The director and hero are working very hard. Salmanji’s physical makeover is very impressive. Audiences will love him in my film.

How much has he charged for your film?

He has received the remuneration he deserves. I can also tell you that all the figures that are being reported are all made up.

It is called Monster, isn’t it?

Yes. It will be released on March 10th or 11th next year. Fifty percent of the shoot is done. We will complete it by October-November.

Does Nayanthara have a role as pivotal as Salman’s?

Oh yes! She is very important to the script. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have agreed to it. She and Salman ji make a very good team.

Are you working on other projects right now?

I’m doing a film with Akshay Kumar, directed by Anees Bazmee. The shooting is over.

Are you gravitating towards the Hindi audience?

Not Hindi or Telugu, but Indian audiences. I’m optimistic. I don’t think OTT is a threat to cinemas any more.
