You recently returned to your roots in Kashmir for the International Film Festival of Jammu & Kashmir?
Going back to Kashmir is always special, it feels like home. And the fact that this time it was for our film Main Vaapas Aaunga made it even more special. For me, any excuse to go back to Kashmir is great. However, I could only go for a day, which was unfortunate. I regret not getting the time to go to Pahalgam and Gulmarg this time. I did spend a couple of hours in the day exploring Srinagar, did some shopping and ate a nice meal.
Do you recommend Kashmir as a shooting spot for our cinema?
It’s one of the most beautiful places in the world. I’m waiting for the day I can go there and shoot. Hopefully a script comes by that takes me there.
How has the critical success of Main Vaapas Aaunga changed your life?
It’s changed in many ways but also still the same. I’m proud our film was loved and found its audience. It restored my faith in the fact that if we put our hearts into something, it will get its due. But nothing about life has really changed. I still go about my daily routine the same way.
