‘Jatadhara Was One Of My Most Challenging And Satisfying Experiences’
Sudheer Babu eagerly awaits the release of the film which he promises will take audiences on an unparalleled cinematic journey
Sudheer Babu couldn’t be in a better place. The Telugu actor’s ready-for-release project Jatadhara gave him an opportunity to cross new frontiers. “I never knew I could challenge myself to do the things I’ve done in Jatadhara. Not only is this the most challenging role of my career, it connected me to emotions that I didn’t know existed in me. It has also connected me to my roots. My sanskaar,” says the star.
He describes working with producer Prerna Arora as a truly enriching experience. “Prerna stands out as a producer with a deep love for cinema, focusing not just on finance but on crafting unique theatrical experiences. Our collaboration's unique selling point is blending mythology with science, promising audiences an unparalleled cinematic journey,” says Sudheer.
“The intersection of these two worlds fascinated me and I knew I had to be a part of bringing this story to life. The opportunity to explore new ideas and push the boundaries of storytelling is what prompted me to accept this project,” he shares.
He doesn’t see much difference in the work ethics of the Telugu and Hindi industries. “Not much difference in talent or resources; it's really just the working style that varies, and I'm already accustomed to it from my Baaghi days.”
Sudheer Babu has no regrets about quitting sports to become an actor. “There were risks involved as I was afraid of the unknown, but I believed in myself and my ability to adapt. I also knew the discipline, hard work and dedication that I developed as an athlete would serve me well in this new journey,” he states.
The actor, who is married into Mahesh Babu’s family, says they are a closely knit group. “We keep meeting as often as possible — for festivals, birthdays, film releases or whenever we have free time. Mahesh shares his experiences. He doesn’t limit himself to films. He is a living encyclopaedia. You give him a topic and he will have more info on it than anyone in that room. I guess that’s a quality he inherited from his father, superstar Krishna.”
Sudheer goes on to say, “At the same time, Mahesh doesn’t try to thrust his advice on me. He always gives me freedom and he always believes that every individual is different and should grow independently.”
