Signs a Hindi-Marathi film with Rah Anil Barve in an intense, non-glam role
Janhvi Kapoor is ready to take a break from her glamorous screen image. She is teaming up with director Rahi Anil Barve, best known for his path-breaking horror classic Tumbbad and a body of work that has consistently pushed the boundaries of Indian cinema.
Barve's Hindi-Marathi project reportedly sees Janhvi take on her most intense and emotionally demanding role yet.
While neither Janhvi nor Barve is permitted by the producers to reveal details about the film, this writer has learnt that the actress has committed herself fully to the project. In fact, she is unlikely to take on any other assignment until she completes work on Barve’s film.
Janhvi’s father, producer Boney Kapoor, says, “Janhvi is hungry for new opportunities and new challenges. In that sense, she is very much her mother’s daughter. At this stage of her career, she is looking for roles that connect her to emotions within herself that she hasn’t tapped into so far.”
