A healthcare professional and academic leader, Dr Bhadra Reddy, general physician and chairman of Malla Reddy Vishwavidyapeeth believes that “practicing what we preach” is essential. His routine reflects not just fitness, but a holistic approach to well-being built on discipline, balance, and emotional clarity.
A Day That Begins with Strength
Dr. Reddy’s mornings begin at 6:30 am, with at least an hour dedicated to structured exercise. “Strength training and weightlifting are the pillars of my fitness regime, helping me build stamina, resilience, and protection against age-related health issues.”
Nutrition as Medicine
Food, for Dr. Reddy, is about nourishment — not indulgence or restriction. “Every meal is protein-rich, supporting muscle recovery and energy. My diet consists of lean meats, pulses, eggs, dairy, vegetables, fruits, and traditional millets, with minimal processed food or refined sugar,” he explains. “Seasonal produce is a constant on my plate, offering natural vitamins and minerals.” approach built on consistency
Beyond physical strength, Dr. Reddy prioritises mental well-being. “Exercise itself serves as a stress reliever, but I also find balance in reading, reflection, and conversations with family, students, and colleagues. Seven hours of quality sleep every night ensures my body and mind reset for the next day.”
Dr. Reddy’s approach is built on consistency and balance rather than quick fixes. His philosophy: Good health is sustainable only when discipline becomes a way of life.
“My structured approach to exercise, food, rest, and reflection helps me remain physically fit, mentally sharp, and emotionally balanced—qualities that, in turn, make me a stronger leader and role model.”
