Sir, I have been married for 6 years and have a 4-year-old son. Since my husband does not like using contraceptive devices, I take pills as a prevention method. But, of late, I realise my sex drive has reduced. Is it because of taking the pills?

Oral contraceptive pills have a tendency to reduce the sex drive. However, other causes like hormone imbalance, lack of pleasure in sex, sexual monotony and marital discord have to be ruled out. You can use an alternative family planning method like vaginal pessary, Intra Uterine Device or a condom.

I am 25 and unmarried. I have a swelling on my right testicle I feel pain and a burning sensation there. It is not varicose. What could it be, and what type of treatment is needed? Will it affect my future family life?

There are various causes for testicular swelling. Tumors, Varicocele, Epididymal cysts, infection (Orchitis) Hematoma (blood collection in tissues) due to injury and Inguino Scrotal Hernia are some of them. In rare cases, testicular torsion may be the cause, and will lead to severe pain. Without a proper examination it is difficult to determine the cause. Consult a urologist in person.
